These three words describe how I photograph a wedding. I'm drawn to the real moments and connections that make each day its own, and I work quietly so the day can unfold on its own terms.

Most of the time, I'm moving through the day without drawing attention to myself, watching for the reactions, laughter, and small exchanges that happen when no one is thinking about the camera. When a little direction helps, I keep it light and natural so it never pulls you out of the moment.

What I'm after are photographs that feel honest and lived in. Images that hold the atmosphere of the day as much as the milestones, and that still feel like you when you look back at them years from now.

I'm Rich

Hi, I'm Richard, a Hudson Valley wedding photographer based in Poughkeepsie. I grew up here, and I know these river towns, back roads, and mountain views like home, because they are.

If you're not sure how you'll feel in front of a camera, you're in good company. Most of my couples say the same thing, and most of them end up forgetting I'm there. That's when the best photographs happen: the nervous laugh before the ceremony, the hand squeeze during the toasts, the moments no one planned.

I left a career in marketing to do this full time, and it's still the work I love most. Since then I've photographed more than 100 weddings across the Hudson Valley, the Catskills, Westchester, Connecticut, and New York City, and earned 70 five-star reviews along the way. You can count on someone calm and experienced keeping an eye on everything while you enjoy your day.
